This project is incredibly special to me.

It was the first project I ever created with Ammiel Fazzari, a friend I've had since 2006, despite the fact that we had never collaborated before.

More importantly, it became the project that gave birth to our artistic collective, Shift Shift.

At the time, I had barely made anything with AI. I learned by making.

Together, we conceived the idea, wrote the script, designed the products, developed the visual language, directed the film, and produced the entire project ourselves.

That process completely changed the way I saw my career. It made me realize I didn't have to choose between being a creative and being a director. I could own the entire process—from the first idea to the final frame.

It's still one of the projects I'm most proud of.

Hallucination Products is the first cultural experiment by Shift Shift, the artistic collective founded by Thiago Espeche and Ammiel Fazzari. Produced entirely with artificial intelligence, the film explores a simple idea: what happens to AI's mistakes once they disappear?

As AI evolves at an extraordinary pace, its hallucinations are corrected almost as quickly as they appear. Instead of treating those errors as something to erase, Hallucination Products transforms them into physical objects—impossible artifacts that preserve the childhood of machines.

Each piece becomes a fossil from a technology still learning how to understand the world, capturing mistakes that may soon no longer exist.

Like every Shift Shift project, the work doesn't try to predict the future. It brings the future into the present so it can be observed, questioned, and tested.

That philosophy also defines how we work. At a time when creative industries increasingly divide authorship among countless specialists, Shift Shift moves in the opposite direction. Thiago Espeche and Ammiel Fazzari jointly create, write, direct, produce, and develop every project themselves, carrying a single creative vision from concept to execution.Ficha Tecnica:
